01.The House

On a twenty-foot rise, alone with the ocean and the jungle.

Rum Barron sits on a twenty-foot rise on the north side of Grand Cayman. There is no neighboring house within 1,000 feet. On one side, the trade winds and the reef. On the other, the jungle.

The main house holds three bedrooms, a great room that opens fully to the pool deck, and a kitchen built for slow mornings. Just across the road, Little Barron, our beachfront cottage, sits on the sand. One room, one bed, one kitchen, one bath, the reef out the front door.

The property is managed end to end by Cayman Kai. You arrive to fresh linens and a stocked kitchen, and the rest of the week is yours.

04.The North Side

The quiet side of the island.

The north side of Grand Cayman is a long way, in feel, from Seven Mile Beach. Fewer cars, smaller restaurants, and water that goes shallow and clear for hundreds of feet out. These are the places we tell guests about first.

Rum Point. The pier extending out into turquoise water, painted starfish sculpture on the sand, lounge chairs under the palms.

A few minutes by car

Rum Point

The closest swimming beach. Shallow water for hundreds of feet out, hammocks under the casuarinas.

Kaibo at dusk. Beach restaurant with string lights, tiki bar, palms in silhouette against the sunset sky.

Five minutes by car

Kaibo

Beach bar downstairs, white-tablecloth restaurant upstairs. Order the French fries.

Starfish Point. Red cushion starfish resting on white sand in shallow turquoise water, palms on the beach above.

Ten minutes by car

Starfish Point

A quiet sand spit where cushion starfish rest in shallow water. Go mid-morning, never at dawn or dusk.

Stingray City. A catamaran anchored in shallow turquoise water, visitors standing waist-deep with the southern stingrays.

Short boat ride from Kaibo

Stingray City

Stand chest-deep on a sandbar in the North Sound, surrounded by stingrays. Go early, never midday.

A longer walk through the north side, with everything we have found worth knowing.

05.Guest Letters

What returning guests have written.

We loved how this location is so private and quiet and peaceful. The beach right by the house is a fun place to explore... If you're into great snorkeling, there's a lot nearby.

Beautiful, private, perfect for extended families. Little Barron is a great in-law suite. Pool is huge. Beautiful property.
James L.·March 2025
We loved the remote and quiet location for our family vacation. An amazing spacious home with high ceilings and large bedrooms... great to get to Stingray City and Starfish Point and great snorkel spots.
Nadine, New York·January 2025
Location is perfect for families, close proximity to many attractions outside of 7 mile beach. Property is well maintained and property management was very responsive.
